Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name for Winona Laura Hoowitz. She was birthed within Winona Minnesota. The name of her parents was derived from the town she grew up in. Both her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder's dad came from the Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish.
