April Ross

April Ross is only one of only a handful of beach volleyball players to have won medals multiple times at an Olympics. She is set to compete in Tokyo for her third Olympic gold medal along with Alix Klineman who is a first-time Olympian. Ross's goal is to win her first Olympic gold medal. At 39 this may be her final chance to achieve it. But she's confident top awards can be achieved. Ross was quoted in NBC Boston as saying that if you play your top, even if you do well, we'll get the gold. It's also going to be an issue of luck. Ross was born in 1982, and grew up within Costa Mesa California with her mother and sister, first began playing the sports of Newport Harbor High School. In Newport Harbor High School, she was a participant in many activities. Along with the indoor game, she also ran track and basketball as a pre-collegiate athlete. In the last sport she stood out. The college bio says that she played outside of the hitter middle blocker, and setter in her volleyball playing career during high school. In recognition of her accomplishments, she received the Gatorade Award for the National Player of 1999. Also, in 2000 she was named Orange County Athlete of the year for volleyball. Ross and Klineman started the partnership in 2017, However, Ross was a beach scene celebrity for a long time prior to. As a matter of fact, Ross has won several major tournaments in her career along with her two teammates. One is a volleyball legend. In the period 2007-2013 she played alongside Jennifer Kessy who more recently played the role of Klineman's coach. Kessy was Ross's partner on the World Championships in 2009. This duo went through to take home a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games at London. The Misty Maytreanor legendary team and Kerri Jennings took home the gold. Ross Walsh was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. They both won bronze medals in beach volleyball for the Rio Olympics in the year the year 2016. Ross began her collegiate time with the Trojans at USC in high school. The Trojans were a few years away from when Ross went to the beach, and then became a professional. Her time at USC was one to remember. In her first year at the school, 2000 earned her the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman of the award and become an All-American. She was also one of the key players to help the Trojans reach their way to the Final Four. Her personal tragedy was a crushing loss during her sophomore year however she was able to return her place as an All-American. Over her final 2 seasons with the Trojans program, she coached the team to win a national championship each year. In 2003-2004, Ross was named the top collegiate female volleyball player in America through The Honda Sports Award. Ross was a student at USC in International Relations. Margie Ross didn't get to witness Ross achieve beach volleyball's top levels. Margie, Ross's mother, passed away in 2001. Ross was a USC sophomore. The cancer was diagnosed as breast. However, she keeps her parents close to her heart. In addition, Margie is an ongoing source of motivation for her at the beach as well as in everyday the world of.
