April Ross

April Ross is only one of only a handful of beach volleyball players to have won medals multiple times at an Olympics. She is set to compete in Tokyo for her third Olympic gold medal along with Alix Klineman who is a first-time Olympian. Ross's goal is to win her first Olympic gold medal. At 39 this may be her final chance to achieve it. But she's confident top awards can be achieved. Ross was born in 1982, and grew up within Costa Mesa California with her mother and sister, first began playing the sports of Newport Harbor High School. In the period 2007-2013 she played alongside Jennifer Kessy who more recently played the role of Klineman's coach. Kessy was Ross's partner on the World Championships in 2009. Margie Ross didn't get to witness Ross achieve beach volleyball's top levels. Margie, Ross's mother, passed away in 2001. Ross was a USC sophomore. The cancer was diagnosed as breast.
