Anna Silk was the first child born to Peter Silk (an academic) and Ilkay Silk (a writer, actor director, producer, playwright as well as a teacher at St. Thomas University). Anna was born in Fredericton. She is the child of the couple Peter Silk and Ilkay Silk. Her mother is an "English-Turkish Cypriot expat" that is originally from Britain. Anna remembers attending rehearsals for productions as a young girl and observing her mother doing her job. In her early years Anna was a part of a variety of commercials for television. Anna was transferred out of Toronto to Los Angeles in 1999. Seth Cooperman, whom she met at a Los Angeles actors' workshop at the end of 2007, became her husband in 2009.
